In March of 2008, Rainebrooke officially went "green." We made numerous changes to the way we operate our business and have made a commitment to protect the environment. Rainebrooke has now adopted the CarbonFund.org motto of "Reduce What You Can, Offset What You Can't®".

Our reduction efforts include the following:

1. We will use paper and packaging that have a high degree of recycled content. Our invoices and receipts will be printed on recycled paper and our shipping boxes will be made from high content recycled materials. Whenever possible we electronically store information to prevent paper waste.
2. All recyclable materials used in our business will be recycled.
3. We will reduce our waste by reusing materials and items that can be reused.
4. We will use energy efficient lighting in our office and warehouse.
5. Our office computers, printers and other electronics will only be on when they are in use and will be turned off while our office is closed.
6. We will adjust our office thermostat to use less electricity and gas for cooling and heating.
7. We will host our website with a company that uses energy efficient servers and also has their own "green" program in place.

To offset what we can't reduce we have partnered* with Carbonfund.org. Through carbon offsets that we purchase from Carbonfund.org our carbon footprint will be reduced to zero. These offsets will support carbon-reducing projects such as renewable energy (solar, wind, methane), energy efficiency and reforestation projects. With our carbon footprint being reduced to zero, Rainebrooke will be CarbonFree® (carbon neutral).
