Boblbee was established in 1997 with their headquarters located in Torekov, southern Sweden, with product development and research carried out in Malmö, Copenhagen, Los Angeles and Hong Kong. Boblbee offers a wide range of products, but what caught my attention were their hard-shell backpacks. The Megalopolis Sport (pictured) is a tough and good looking hard-shell backpack.  The hard-shell exterior is an ABS plastic monocoque shell for impact protection and is painted with a lacquer automotive paint. It has a water resistant lid, external strapping system with 6 fastening points, waist belt, sternum strap and cell phone pocket. The interior has large mesh pockets for bike tools, along with a pocket divider that can be removed. With the divider inserted, there’s a pocket for your laptop that will fit a maximum laptop size of 14”x10”x2”.  This Sport model is designed to handle all Boblbee’s Megalopolis product line accessories to customize for biking, skiing or expanded packing capacity. The Meg Sport is 22”x12”x6” in size, weighs 4 lbs, is available in red, gray, blue and orange and sells for around $160.  It can be found in some US retail stores in CA, OR, KY, NY, a few on-line stores and several retailers around the world (check site for details).  ~ Comment on this product … Do you own one? T-Bags is a California based company that was formed in 1990 and specializes in motorcycle touring luggage… and they have a really nice selection of it. Pictured is their Computer Case, which fits into their SideKick bag.  The padded Computer case is made from neoprene and includes a shoulder strap for carrying as well as a carrying handle. The Computer Case is designed to fit inside the SideKick, which is a multi purpose piece of touring luggage. The SideKick is designed to slip over the motorcycles backrest. It’s made of nylon and is insulated with high density foam. There are 3 compartments, a full organizer for phones, pens, etc; and has a telescoping handle that extends from a hidden pocket so the case can glide on smooth bearing blade type wheels. For those rainy days there’s a built-in bungee bottom external rain cover. The outer shell (made from polyurethane/ethylene vinyl acetate (EVA) composite) provides protection for the laptop which secures on the inside, in a padded sleeve.  The hard shell also allows the backpack to be free-standing so it won’t fall over when you set it down.  Inside are plenty of expanding compartments, cargo bays and convenience pockets for all your other stuff. The interior has foam spacers so it can be adjusted to fit laptops from 12” to 15”.  The foam spacers are Velcro backed so they stick to each other. Stack the number of spacers you need and fasten down your laptop with the central strap and your laptop will be safe from those unexpected drops.  Matias tested the case from 10 feet off a 2nd floor ledge dropping it onto concrete with both the laptop and case surviving.  The interior of the Laptop Armor has a file folder organizer, one large pocket for power cables, a small pocket for a mouse or iPod and a tall pocket for pens. A detachable padded shoulder strap is also included. This white model is currently available for 12”to 15” laptops and is priced at $149.95.  Matias also offers black and metallic models for both 12” to 15” and 14” to 17” laptops.  ~ Comment on this product. This one pictured is their Stamina, which is a classic looking leather carrying bag. Their bags are made from vegeta leather that Mismo states is made exclusively for them. The Stamina has an adjustable and removable shoulder strap, zip top closure with double puller and outside front pocket.  The interior has a pen holder, zip-pocket, removable hook for keys and a padded pocket for the laptop that will fit most 17” laptops. It comes in olive, dessert and black. Mismo bags are not yet available in the US, but for those in Denmark, Japan, Norway and Spain, take a look on the Mismo site for a dealer near you.

The traditional furoshiki is a sheet of cloth used to wrap and transport all types of goods (wrapping variations). It’s a nice simple idea but I don’t personally see much use in it since there isn’t a good handle or shoulder strap. However, I think it would be useful for protecting a laptop inside a backpack or another larger laptop bag. The Furoshiki will fit laptops up to 15.4” and comes in black and yellow. If you happen to be in Kamakura-city Japan you can visit the 9brand studio and shop; to purchase the Furoshiki in the US you can get it from Tortoise in Venice, CA for $88. ~ Comment on this product. The IT Tablet Case looks like it would really be helpful to those who are in an environment like a doctors office.  The 3 in 1 design lets the user stand, sit, kneel or walk while using the tablet in either notebook mode (when typing), tablet mode (when writing), or for storage.  IT also offers an accessory pouch large enough to hold long-life batteries, notebooks or files.
