Colorful laptop bags by Rainebrooke
~ your escape from the boring black carrier ~

Rainebrooke was started after my wife came home from a business trip and mentioned to me how she was tired of having such a bulky, boring laptop carrier. She complained about how difficult it is to get through airport security having to remove her laptop then repack it into her bulky laptop bag. Not only was it cumbersome in security and larger than it needed to be, but she expressed a concern that almost all laptop bags available came in black. Why don't companies recognize that women want more stylish, colorful laptop bags similar to the variety of offerings available in handbags? At the time, colorful bags were not readily available on the market. After searching, she found that the few that were available were too expensive.

The next day while I was sitting at the table watching my two daughters color with crayons, I thought about what my wife said. I glanced over at the box of crayons on the table and thought to myself, why not offer laptop bags in a wide variety of colors like the many colors in a box of crayons? At that point, I decided to start a company that offers laptop bags in a wide variety of colors and price them so they are affordable enough for just about anyone.

Since my daughters' coloring (and my wife's idea) provided the inspiration for the new business, I decided it was only appropriate to name the company after them. So my daughters' middle names "Raine" and "Brooke" launched the start of Rainebrooke.

I spent the next several months asking both women and men, what type of colors, styles and features that they would like to see in a laptop bag. After reviewing all the feedback gathered, I decided on the first style and color set. Rainebrooke's first product line, called the "Slim Line," went on sale October 2005.

After numerous sales, I complied all the feedback received on the first style of bag and realized that the best way to develop any product is to let the users design the bag. So I decided from that point on that future Rainebrooke laptop bags would be designed based on the styles, features, and colors requested by the everyday users of laptop bags.
