In the summer of 2005, my wife came home from a
business trip and mentioned to me that she was tired
of having such a bulky, boring laptop carrier. She
said that most bags on the market were large, boring
looking, inconvenient for airport security, and only
available in black. She said to me, “why don’t
companies recognize that women want more stylish,
colorful laptop bags similar to the variety that is
seen in handbags?” At that time, colorful laptop
bags were not readily available.

The next day I sat at the table, watching my two
daughters color with crayons, and thought about my
wife’s comments. I glanced at the box of crayons and
the colorful pictures my daughters made, and thought
‘why not offer laptop bags in a variety of colors
like the many colors in a box of crayons?’ At that
moment, I decided to start a company that offers
colorful laptop bags and name the company
“Rainebrooke”, the combination of my daughters’
middle names: “Raine” and “Brooke”.
I spent the next several months reading bag
reviews and sorting through commentary from
individuals who have recently purchased laptop
carriers. I asked many people, in particular women,
about their preferences for certain colors, styles
and features they would like to see in a laptop bag.
In October of 2005, Rainebrooke’s first product line
went on sale. |
Rainebrooke’s laptop bags are designed based on
the styles, features and colors requested by our
customers and those who use laptop bags. I welcome
your comments and feedback on what is important to
you and what you find most appealing in a laptop
bag. Your ideas could be incorporated into our next
product line! I would like for you to be a part of
building the perfect laptop carrier for those who
want an "escape from the black and boring laptop
carrier."

In late 2009 Rainebrooke
decided to refine our focus and specialize
on the one color we know best... Pink!
Pink is Raine & Brooke's
favorite color; it's also the color of the
very first laptop bag that was sold from the
Rainebrooke website back in 2005.
